Hello. I have written a splash screen for my game that displays a .jpg while resources are being loaded (models, sounds, area, etc). No MFC is being used, and the app is compiled using GCC 3.3.3. The splash screen is a WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW and WS_POPUP window. It is not always displayed on top (as sometimes windows error boxes got stuck behind it). After making it no longer on top, the screen would no-longer re-paint itself if another window or app was dragged over it, it would just show the remnants of what you drug over it (similair to the look in windows solitaire of the cards bouncing when you win). I assume it is because while the resources are being loaded, my WndProc func isn't being called. I am clueless as how to approach it from a multi-threaded standpoint, if that is even the proper solution. Any advice on how to get the window to repaint while the resources are loading would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Well, in the WndProc, it should receive a message to WM_PAINT, when this happens, you must redraw your menu. If you're doing that, then you may have to go multi-threaded if your app is taking to much CPU time, and not processing messages.
