Just a quick simple question for those who are familiar with SDL. I've been looking through SDL's documentation, and I didn't find anything on creating new and/or child windows. Does SDL support more than one window creation, or are you just limited to the main application window? Thanks

welll ive never had to do this yet but one would assume so because it has ALOT of multi-thread functions. i just dont know how you would create more then one window in a single aplication (sorry if i wasnt very helpful).

:)

Short answer: no, you can only use one window per application.

can it be a solution to make another application, and run it when the other starts?

I suppose I could do that, but I'm building a GUI system, and that would be a pretty big pain to just display simple dialogs and message boxes.

Thanks for the input 'ontheheap'.. I guess I'll have to make due with the app window then :(

It's not that hard to make an 'ingame window'. And you can make them fluffily nicer looking. [wink]
