Model a track

Hi! Im new to 3d modelling, and i want to model a track for a game, kinda like a wipeout game. later i will want to model a speeder :P i found this tutorial: http://www.rsdg.net/files/tutorials/lofting.htm but my track keeps lookin like this: http://mega.ist.utl.pt/~mblp/track.jpg can someone help me so i can understand what i am doing wrong?

did you load the model into your program or are you using MAX's rendering option for the picture (which I think you are). If so it a problem inside MAX.

Try some of these:

  • Try putting some lights above the track
  • The polys could be one sided, try making them double-sided
  • Try applying a texture and see the outcome


Tracks can be difficult to get just right, keep at it.
