We NEED programmers! :)

Original Post
Hello, my name is Leon Burton from Curve Software (www.curvesoftware.com). We're in need of C++ programmers to work on our MMORPG project. Before I begin breaking this down, this is a VOLUNTEER position untill a commercial version is released. You will be working under contract that will ensure your percentage of profits when we release a commercial version - you can leave at anytime and still receive your percentage of profits. About the project: Quintara is an ISOMETRIC medieval MMORPG being developed by Curve Software. What will I receive in return? Once a commercial version of the MMORPG is released, you will receive a percentage of the profits made each month. The amount varies depending how much work you have produced. Most MMORPG projects fail! You're right, they do. I can't guarantee all my projects will stay afloat, the same way EA or Sony can't. Quintara has been in development for over a year, there's nothing that could seriously affect us now. Has Quintara been advertised? On some websites Quintara will be named "Era Online: Return of Menath" (it's original name). A few months back we did a few dev chats over at Stratics.com, we got interviewed by GameZone and we're currently planning a dev chat over on the QuakeNET network. I'm interested? Contact me and I'll answer any questions you may have. AIM: Fishi World MSN: magic_fishy@hotmail.com ICQ: 315-170-302 E-mail: me@leonburton.com www.curvesoftware.com Thank you!
will this game be 2d ISO or 3d ISO?
good luck!
good luck!

According to your website you have one concept drawing and one music track and no screenshots. What have you done in the past year?
Also, your FAQ reads as if the game is already available. It even directs you to the download page to download the game.

People, cut down on the flaming.
I suggest you start reading the dev journals, forums
Nothing there. Journals are only a few days old, and the forum only has 179 posts, mostly "what will the game be like" type posts. I don't call that active :).
It's better to be completely honest than exagerate. It'll only get worse later if you continue to stretch the truth.

Not to flame or anything but, if you did have an active community, a small HD error would not affect them at all since they would just reregister.
no offense but obviosuly you dont know how much damage a "small" harddrive error can cause for an online based dev. team.
Thats probably all thier work gone in an instant which can be VERY demoralizing. scrapping together what remained on other developers harddrives would be a daunting task.
However,i do agree the site (Specially journals) doesnt indicate much work.
I found a couple of screenshots:
invalid screenshots removed. sorry! [smile]
BTW: Here's how I found the screenshots:
Google search

Those graphics will NOT be used in Quintara - just to confirm that for anybody who was wondering. I think those were used for a really OLD (infact that was from last year, when the game was named Era Online - most of us never had anything to do with that engine) test engine that was never released to the public. I cannot confirm where those graphics came from.
As for the HD failure, it was a major bump for us. We don't have the time to go around picking up the pieces when we're trying to get as much done as possible. We lost hundreds of users and the popup we have on the site basically asks people to register for BETA UPDATES, people register and move on - most of them don't check back, they wait for the emails.
It's really hard in the game industry as I guess everyone knows here. I came here looking for help, not to get flamed. If you have any questions about the game, please register with the site as we are planning a dev chat at the moment - hopefully, your question can be answered there.
Edit: I now know where those images are hosted, I have tried my best to contact one of the sites to remove that image however, nothing has been done. The second site will have that removed asap. Thanks.
