anyone use it? I don't, it just seems too out-of-the-way to visit the control panel in order to do anything with it. Actually, that's true for many of the GDNet+ features, you have to access them through akward channels, and it's a discouragement against using them. I would post in my journal more often, but I don't want to navigate to it all the time (well, I guess I could bookmark it...) Anyways, thoughts, comments. How much do you use the features?

Say ... I have that notepad too. [grin] I think everybody does. I never use it either.

I think it's a potentially useful but usually extraneous feature. If you need to save text, there's always text files, you know. ;)

Only if you never come to gdnet from another computer, or you always carry a floppy with you.
Personally, I carry a floppy 75% of the time, and the other 25% I know the pc has a usb port so I use my 256MB flash drive instead.

If I need to access a file and I have Internet access from another location, I usually remote desktop to my home computer, or I access my web server. If I don't have Internet access, I drop back to my thumbdrive (also 256 MB). BTW, which brand do you use?

I don't trust any other computers that I use enough to remote into my machine (for ex I'm pretty sure both work and school computers log info and I don't want anybody but me on my machine), so I'm forced to use temporary media.

My usb drive is a SanDisk Micro that was featured on anandtech hot deals (about a month ago, it was $30 w/o rebates, now people are get twice that size for that price and 1GBs for that price w/ rebate =-(

I've used my notepad mainly for mapquest.

My main computer doesn't have a printer while my music computer has a printer. When I need get directions, I research it on my main computer, copy, paste and reload on my downstairs computer.

It hasn't been too useful otherwise.

I use it where I ordinarily would have emailed myself simple, temporary information. I don't have my computer set up for remote access, and carrying around digital media is just a waste of money. My email system runs really really slow, so this is a vaste improvement in efficiency.

I did PM myself an essay I wrote on my PDA, once. The PDA has a wireless adapter in it, so I was able to get online at school, pm the essay, and download it on one of the school computers.
