I'm looking for an abstract wallpaper, a wallpaper that doesn't represent anything, like Windows "ripple" or "crystal". I like some in deviantart, but they are only in 1280x960 resolution, I need 1600x1200 :P for my desktop. Oh, wallpapers with darker colors are better. Do you guys have any? edit: or even better, if you can show me where I can learn making some.

I know that there are cool pics at deviantart. Some of them are at 1024x768, even smaller. You didn't mention what particular size you need, however, I think you could still shrink the resolution using some program like PaintShopPro or whatever.

How is it that you quoted him, and yet didn't spot that he requested 1600x1200 resolution?

If you have Photoshop (or a similar package), try using liquify tools and filters on blobs of colour, you can sometimes get some fairly cool results.

Breed has some nice stuff. The older releases have some incredible images. I have a ton of cool wallpapers at home that I can mirror if I remember.

Heres one, its the result of an experiment of mine. A fractal algorithm applied on a bump map.
you shouldn't have used PNG

Got any recommendations for lossless 32bit RGBA image formats?
