you arent serious are you? you are building an MMORRG on GML?
if you can pull that off then im a green osterich.....

listen: GML doesnt have to power to make a MMORG, and even if you could make on, how are you gonna pay the server, get it online, get members, write it, and especially: gonna handle 100s of potential players....

GML ISNT a real language, its just a program language that is based on delphi(or C++), nothing more. if you want to write a mmorg, use Basic or C++. GML just isnt gonna pull it off.... GML can be learned in 3 days (hell i know it to). if you look around on these forums, most MMORG projects die, even with experienced programmers... Why? because its to much work, and they cant get it hosted, and the team loses faith.....

Again, GML ISNT gonna pull this off, in fact, im kinda cross with gamemaker cause it makes programming look easy, while it really isnt that easy....

for anyone who like to see what i mean, go 2 www.gamemaker.nl
and again, learn C++ or Basic, its better for such things... (and GL if you still gonna make it).

sorry to pull the legs out of your dream, but its reality... GML isnt that great.... it just gives the idea it is... it isnt real programming to... its just simplified C++, giving the programming impression. nothing wrong with it, but it cant handle big things

ok :) i didnt believe advanced at first since people telling they are good programmers(with GML) arent programmers most of the time. they can move something around the screen and they can drag buttons and some even can make online things, but dont know about servers exetra. GML is really easy to learn, and most people think they are experts when they mastered it....

still, building server software with GML cant do all.... one of the main reasons i stopped with GML is that it doesnt have the power i want....
but anyway, its a good job you pulled of 100+ players. How did you do that BTW? i dont think you had an internet lobby, so does the program instead link to the server and start sending/reading packages?

anyway, from the sound of it, its a real mmorg(at least the title gives that idea)... still i can advice switching to basic, C++ or Delphi, because of the extra options ;) but if you dont need em, they are a waste.... At least it sounds like you know what you are doing, and that you ARENT some kind of gml person who things hes an expert after moving things around the screen

well, GL to you then and if you need a betatester, lemme know ;)
(and it seems IM a green ostrich now :D )

well... i think recruiting will be kinda hard ;) most people know the more general languages like C++, Delphi, Basic and such, but i guess most never heard of GML... see, when u know a general language, you will not soon switch to some somewhat more restriced language. GML is a incredibly easy language, but that makes it also limited :) . also post as much information as possible, and keep it GOOD information. nothing is more frustrating then putting time in a game, and then getting no outcome because it didnt work. besides, most people want to know a lot before they ever join something. see it like a kind of safeguard since some new programmers set up a great plan but that cant do a thing.... that would be a waste o time :)

still i would advie u to change to a somewhat more general language since people know these better, maybe u should also post a link to the previous game to show u made something nice :)
