How do you detect if a card can multitexture, and if it can, how do you detect it's maximum textures in 1 pass?
Black Sky A Star Control 2/Elite like game
MARS_999
MARS_999
try this
cout << glGetString(GL_EXTENSIONS) << endl;

that will print out if the card supports multi texturing

this will give you how many texture units
int max_texture_units = 0;glGetIntegerv(GL_MAX_TEXTURE_UNITS, &max_texture_units);cout << max_texture_units << endl;
zedzeek
zedzeek
as weel as
glGetIntegerv(GL_MAX_TEXTURE_UNITS, &max_texture_units);

use to see how many texture units are accesable with a fragment program

glGetIntegerv( GL_MAX_TEXTURE_IMAGE_UNITS_ARB, &max_texture_image_units );
