I may not be using the correct term, but by visual programming I mean programming without code, and instead using charts. I think that anything that would make making programs easier would be fantastic, but I don't think this is it. I am afraid that this is a case of "different must be better". We as humans communicate with words. For a while, we had words, but no writing. However, writing was found to be a more efficient means of communication than pictures. With code, I agree. I don't see how charts would be any faster to make a physics engine than words, as long as those words are part of an intelligent language, such as Python. I may be wrong, as there are others who have looked into this much more than I have. What are your thoughts?

I'm working on such a system, except that it's a run-time system rather then compile time. This means that the overall structure of your program can be altered as it's running. However, the individual objects must be hard-coded of course.

I see it as abstracting the relationships between pieces of data and code, just as high level programming languages seek to abstract logical patterns.

Maybe if I see it in action I would understand.
