Have can i detect what max version does my video card support. Only by software. We have ARB_vertex_program extension. It is used for all versions of vp: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 How can i detect whether video card support some version?

I think you're mixing DX shaders with OpenGL shader which is plainly wrong. There is only one ARB_vertex_program version - 1.0. However the specifiaction allows another versions to be implemented - it distinguishes between them by looking at shader's header (!!ARBvpX.X). Note that there are also other extensions for dealing with vertex shaders - namely rather new ARB_vertex_shader and couple of NVIDIA propriety extensions (NV_vertex_program,NV_vertex_program2,NV_vertex_program3...)

You can also check for GL_ARB_vertex_shader / GL_ARB_fragment_shader support. A card supporting these extensions is probably equivalent to, in DirectX notation, VS/PS 2.0.
