Computer Problem

I just got all my computer components for Christmans and I was putting them in my case but when I tried to test run the machine and see if the BIOs would come up , nothing happened. I have Power because all of the Fans are running, but my monitor stays on it selftest screen. Has this happened to Anyone else and if so whats is wrong?

I had something like this happen to me. It was because I put in a CPU that wouldn't work with the motherboard.

My Motherboard is an Asus A8V Deluxe and it says it can use Athon 64's and Athlon 64 FXs. The CPU I bought is an Athlon 64 4000+. if thats helps

Consult the manual for your mother board. You might have to change jumper settings or somesuch.

Any beep sounds coming out of the motherboard?

No, there aren't any noises coming out of the kotherboard, whichbrings me to my next problem. My case doesn't seem to have a built in speaker , so I cant even hear any error codes, is a speaker in the case standard or is the case just crappy

can't you borrow an old speaker from an old case until you sort this problem?
