Hi guys, I've been looking for a box-tri intersection code and although I found some, I don't really see what's the approach they use towards the problem. Could somebody explain what needs to be done to see if a box and tri collide? A true/false statement is enough, if that would matter. Thanks

SAT (separating axis theorem). That's the method generally employed because it's fast, no divisions, and simple to understand in its most basic form.

see here for an example in 2D.

3D is exactly the same. The only difference is identifying the axes required for the SAT. for a triangle/box, there are 13 axes to test.

If that above isn't helping, ... [grin]
Everything is better with Metal.
