I've been working on a car computer for a while now. Over the summer I had a total melt down. Well at least just the video card. It got so hot that the fan melted off. So i was thinking of how i could make a computer survive the temperatures of 90 degrees in the summer, and 0- in the winter. I was thinking of using a water cooled system and peltiers to bring the temperature down to a reasonable level before turning on the system. Is there a problem with being to cold on the chip? Could/Should I run the peltiers in reverse, would this heat the system up? Any Ideas or experience on this kinda thing?

Maybe he wants to play HL2 while driving :D
Which causes me to reiterate, why the hell aren't you using on-board graphics? [smile]

You wouldn't have to deal with melting fans [smile].

Not to mention the power and space savings. Unless you're using a parallel extender, your PCI/AGP card is going to sit perpendicular to the mainboard, which alters the spatial configuration.
