Ok, so I'm currently developing apps for PDAs on embedded Visual C++, but now we need a software solution that will work on the PC side of things, not on the PDAs. So I was all happy installing Visual Studio 2002 this past friday, when the computer just rebooted out of nowhere, on CD 2 i think... A long story short, the dam thing refuses to continue the installation... it correctly detects a borked installation, and tries to unistall the previous attempt, but appears to fail... I don't want to format my pc (too much junk there, and no where else to put it) just for this... Can anyone offer any helpful tips before I give up all hope and phone Microsoft's support services?

It wasnt corrupted files...

Basicly the computer rebooted for whatever reason, and when I got back into Windows, I tried running the install CD, which behaved as everything was well installed, which it wasnt, of course.

I then deleted all the folders I saw where related to VS, and launched the installation process again.

This time it says that there seems to exists a previous failed install on the machine, and it tries to fix it, but it burps and fails...

Now I don't know what else to delete to fully remove all VS remnants from my system, so that I could do a clean install...
