I'm developing a top down view 3D engine, that will allow to create RTS games without spending too much time on developing 3d engine and focus more on the game code it self. Right now I'm only designing an api. This engine will consist of following: Gui - Will let you to render several kinds of standard controls and create your own. Hopefully it will have TrueType fonts rendering. Terrain - Will Load and Render Terrain Mesh - Loading and Rendering MD2 Models Files Foliage - Allows for creation of many different types of plants and foliage Random Map - Allows you to create random map scripts, Like the Age of Mythology LuaProxy - Allows you to use whole engine from Lua scripts, so that you want need a compiler to create a fun game. Here is a list of libraries that I'm planning to use: SDL, OpenGL - I'm aiming to make this engine cross-platform. SDL_image - Image loading SDL_ttf - to use TrueType fonts (thought I don't know how to use it with opengl yet) TinyXML - Loading config files I'm basically looking for programmers who know c++ and can give me a hand with this project. I've done similar stuff in Direct3D, but I want to create an open source engine. Any help would be appreciated by me and the community. Gregory Minassian zenit2n@hotmail.com ICQ: 8183825

Hello, thank you for responding to my post.

rogerdv:
It will be for sure suitable for games like Warcraft 3.

Genjix:
This project is just a high level library.
It wont have supper complex architecture.
xml files will be used only to define resources and not logic.

My goal with this project is to make it as simple as possible.
Right now im plaining API (list of functions) that will be easy to understand and use.

I've done some similar things before, but I was using directx and my code was spaghetti.
Here is example of what I did:
Terrain Demo
Gui Demo
