Lip Piercing ....

I am wanting to get a piercing somewhere .... I want to get my lip pierced but someone said to me that a stud in the lower lip is for girls (which I dont think is correct)... so maybe a ring would be better or is a cone shaped stud perfectly acceptable? Anyone got any ideas or opinions about this?

Do you mean a stud below the lower lip? I've seen guys with that. If you mean a ring through the lower lip, I think that's for girls only (looks damn hot too).

The reason I want a piercing is because I am too plain in appearnce :p I always act really nice and politely but I'm really a little bit of a punk :) But I dont wear jewlery at all (not even a watch) and want one thing that does not look hideous but will make a bit of a definition, if you know what I mean.

I dont seem to be able to find a pic of anyone with a cone shaped stud though :(

Ok, well I for one would like to take bets on how long it will be before Scandalous Player gets banned. Too bad he is wasting time here rather than doing something productive.

Anywho, I would have to say DONT get one in that little area between your lip and your chin [edit - I have seen some people that it looks good on in photos, so it really depends on the shape of your face], and don’t get between the top lip and the bottom of your nose, they look awful. Also, the eye-brow piercing has gone out of style, so I would avoid those.

I would just go to a piercing place and ask to look through one of their books, and ask them what they think would look good (make sure you point out that you will not be getting it done that day so they don’t try and sell you on the spot).

Oh, and make sure you post photos once you get it [grin]

yeah, the whole eyebrow thing died out a while back hey :) oh well.

If you follow that link ... its a whole iste about piercings and has thousands of images ... I'm trying to get other peoples opinion because I dont want to shop to try and "sell" itself, I seriously hate that.

I would post a pic but the one I have that shows my face has me with realllllly bad hair and I dont have any other decent ones :) Actually ... I'll see if I can find one to scan in a few hours....

I'll defaintely post a pic if I actually get one done so you can all laugh at me :) hehehehe <<< see, I'm laughing in advance :D

My opinion: don't do it. All those piercings are silly. And they don't make you special or anything because everybody has them. If you really want to look special, nothing short of a big tattoo on your face will do (you are guaranteed that the masses won't start getting those left and right anytime soon).

Mental note: Do not type 'Piercing' into google image search. Images with the name 'amplingchristmas.jpg' will come up and scare you. If you are feeling brave and you are not at work, do an image search on that name (no way I am posting a direct link to that!). In fact, just type 'piercing' and the second picture sums up what you will be seeing for the next 10 pages.

The best way to express yourself is through what you do, not what you look like.
Sure, strangers will judge you for what you look like, but the only people to whom it will matter to you what do they think about you will judge you by what you are.

And I must second what shmoove said, piercing is probably one of the most unoriginal thing you could do anyway.

And it's ugly.

I have been pondering over the idea of an eyebrow stud for a while now. Not because it I want to feel like a punk but because I honestly think it looks classy. Someone mentioned that eyebrow rings have gone out of fashion – if you’re getting a piercing because it is the thing to do or because you want to be unique I seriously suggest reconsidering. Everyone wants to be an individual these days and thus doing something for that point can be hypocritical. However, if you actually think it will look good, go for your life and get it done. I personally find most piercing horrible.

I got my labret pierced (just under your bottom lip) and my g/f loved it.

ANd I always thought a stud in your nose was for girls, until this guy I knew got one and it's looks awesome.
