Hello ! hi i hope someone can help me : what i already got: - a untransformed vertex buffer including all animation frames - treating that as 3d Object isn´t the problem Now i want to use this object also as a kind of button. when i select the 3d object, a small version of that object shall appear insight the menue bar. like warcraft3 etc. That means i need to draw/render this object to a 2D non-fixed screen position. i know i could create a extra buffer including the transformed vertex data but then iam not able to "move" the object along the x-y screen axis without overwriting the vertex data. i use version dx9 thanks....

If you create a vertex structure that suits your model, but defines the position as D3DFVF_XYZRHW you can render to the screen as if it where 2D pixels. You would then just need to create a world matrix that appropriately scales and positions the object for you.

hi !

thx for answer but...

i think, that if i use the D3DFVF_XYZRHW flag to determine the transformed vertex coordinates i cant use any worldmatrix to scale translate etc. ?

any other advice... ?
