Is there any open-source browser renderer class, to which I pass a DC (drawing context), or something, and it will render http data? And can I get it to render data I have in memory already, and not connect to some website? Thanks for any pointers on this [wink]

I only know Microsoft's IHTMLRenderer interface, but that would not be open-source.

I don't see why not. A renderer just renders, it doesn't care where the original data came from.

Have a look at Mozilla's Gecko. I don't know if this is the best link, but it should be a start.

You can embed Gecko, and with some contortions, get it to render to an arbitrary device context. here are some examples of embedded Gecko projects, including an ActiveX control that's fairly painless to use. IIRC, the ActiveX control's webpage has an example of loading a page from data.

KHTML might be another good choice. Unfortunately, it isn't actually ready on Win32.

I don't want to start a puney post about it so: have you heard of anybody implementing css or plugin css/html interpreter into a game engine to do gui's? The idea just seems good.

isn't that overkill though?
any XML-based layout would be just as easy to use, and there are so many nice parsers out there.

I believe this is how mozilla firefox does its GUI (or something similar).
I love me and you love you.

But wouldn't you still need CSS to put in all the neat styles? It would work with xml.
