I'm currently writing the "Judgement Day | Determining Conclusions from Evidence" chapter of my book, and I am on the topic of the Availability Heuristic, which basically means that you allow for some error to speed up your program. Example: Are there more words starting with "r" in the dictionary than there are words with "r" as the thrid letter? Human:"Yes" Machine: There are actually more words with "r" as the thrid letter, this error is created because the orginization of your memory is more suited for the beginnings of words then middle or ending, hence the frequency bias results in a wrong answer. The right answer would be available(by reading the whole dictionary) however to time consuming for people. I was wondering if this concept as a name in the programming world that I am not aware of?

This is, alternately, referred to as "Game Design," "Approximation" or "Hack."
