It'll be sad to see him go.

Well ... he did used to be funnier. And I have most of his older books, so I would know. [smile]

Still, when he was funny, he was very funny. [grin]

Is it bad that I have never heard of him?

He will be missed. Debating whether this trumps Bill Watterson quitting, but it's up there. I think I actually cried when Watterson quit for about 15 minutes, but then again I was like 9.

Dave's humor was hit-and-miss. He recycled a lot of his own jokes, to the point where you could usually see what was coming. Not a good thing for a humorist. :( On the other hand, he was a comic revolution. He's one of the few humorists that made me laugh out loud while reading. I never followed his column, but I own just about all of his book collections. It's too bad he's quitting...his stuff was always worth reading.

He wrote a book that was turned into a movie. Anyone seen 'Big Trouble'?
