I'm beginning work on an MFC project and I'd like to know where the values for all of my resources are kept. For instance if I have a button, let's say IDC_OK. I can alter that button in any way I wish using Microsoft's Visual Studio.net and I can see all of the values in the properties box, but where is the code itself that tells the compiler I want a box 400x300 pixels wide name myBox, etc.? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks in advance.

Check out your resource (.rc) script file.

Here's what a dialog looks like from one of my resource files as an example:

IDD_LOG DIALOGEX 0, 0, 344, 241style DS_SETFONT | DS_MODALFRAME | DS_FIXEDSYS | WS_POPUP | WS_CAPTION | WS_SYSMENUCAPTION "Log Output"FONT 8, "MS Shell Dlg", 400, 0, 0x1BEGIN DEFPUSHBUTTON "Close",IDOK,287,220,50,14 GROUPBOX "Local socket info",IDC_STATIC,7,169,330,44 GROUPBOX "nettd logging output",IDC_STATIC,7,3,330,163 LTEXT "Packets in:",IDC_STATIC,16,183,36,8 LTEXT "Bytes in:",IDC_STATIC,16,195,29,8 LTEXT "Static",IDC_PACKETSIN,61,183,57,8 LTEXT "Static",IDC_BYTESIN,61,195,57,8 LTEXT "Packets out:",IDC_STATIC,167,183,41,8 LTEXT "Bytes out:",IDC_STATIC,167,195,34,8 LTEXT "Static",IDC_PACKETSOUT,218,183,57,8 LTEXT "Static",IDC_BYTESOUT,218,195,57,8 EDITTEXT IDC_LOG,16,16,311,143,ES_MULTILINE | ES_AUTOVSCROLL | ES_AUTOHSCROLL | ES_READONLY | WS_VSCROLLEND
