Hello, I am here to see if I can find a decent priced 3d artist to model 18 characters for our project. At this time I am seeking to get them done one at a time due to funding. The poly count can be no higher than 2800. If your work is good, we will likely have you do many more over a period of time.( when more overtime fills my fund up again) Below you can see the model that you will be bidding on from front, back and side. It is important that the model is as close to exact as possible. If any problems are encountered we can discuss it on MSN or Email. Payment is made through paypal when the assignment is completed.

can you give the following information:
is this for the model only or are you also requiring textures, rig, skinned and animation?

I'll model it for $75 , but do you need a texture or UV mapping? You'll really need to be more specific.

Texturing is not needed as I can take care of that matter on my own. The antimation topic is questionable. This depends on how much of an increase it will have on the bid. Maybe I should say give me a price to simply model it and a seperate price to include antimation. Antimation will consist of a few movements such as being hit with bullets, death, walking, shooting a gun and running. At a later date I will need a few others but those are the important ones. Im writing down everyones names and emails so please include them in your posts so that I can contact you at later dates also.

Free? This was/is a bid. Why don't you offer your "free" services to someone that needs non-paid volunteers. Some people here actually try to pay their bills and feed there family making 3D content. When you people make bids for extremly low (or god forbid, FREE!) amounts it hurts others,yourselves and degrades the community as a whole. There were quite a few more paragraphs that I wanted to convey but, I will keep it civil. (plus I don't need to be arrested for making terroristic threats...)

Just for the OP's information, since I have done similar outsourcing in the past, is that you usualy get what you pay for. Ask for a portfolio of sorts, and judge that as harshly as the cost. In this world you usualy get what you paid for, and freebies usualy arnt committed to the project.

The fact is tha actually I started the model yesterday and 'its half done (still missing the head and the hands plus some minor details) I started it just because I was bored of school's hi-poly stuff and to see if my low-poly modeling skills were still good. So I want to know if the SpiderWeb is interested so I can finish it. Obviously if he's satisfied about the work other models will be for bucks ^_^
And I'm also helping 3dmodelerguy in his game (wich is great come and join!!) for free so...
I'm also a student that leaves alone in a foreign country and has to do some and that lives in a 4*3 meters student room ^_^ so I know how hard life is...

I appreciate everyone that is offering to help and I understand what you are saying about everyone needing some extra cash on the side. I find myself needing it often doing this project. I think I should ebay a kidney or something. Anyhow I regret to inform everyone the bid is over on this model however, I will be posting again and again with new models soon, so please check back in and we can pick up where we left off on the next assignment. As always thank you for your time fellas.

Free is also a bid... Ofcourse it hurts others who want to get paid, but if someone is offering his/her services for free then you can't complain.. If you can't get enough money by freelancing then maybe you should look for a steady job, millions and millions of people do that...
I'm a programmer myself, and you won't hear me say, oh damn the opensource community is killing my job by giving everything for free..
For the person who is offering his/her services for free (this time) it's an opportunity to show what he/she's capable of so they can show it to later employers, so what seems to be 'free' for you maybe the other person's ticket to a real steady paying job....

You're right SuperDre, it 'll help me build my portfolio and enhance my skills, actually I'll make the first model for free but the other models will be paid. It's just a way to be in good relationship with the client ^_^
