My problem might be somewhere else, but I'm having a odd problem in a program I am working on. When I run it, it consumes 100-150mb of memory, which is way more than it should. In trying to isolate what was causing the memory usage, I ended up commenting out glClear, and my memory usage dropped to under 20mb. Anyone know why commenting out glClear could have done that? (Needless to say, not using glClear isnt really an option.) Thanks

it probably wasn't glClear. commenting out glClear might have forced your compiler to recompile a certain object file that you changed earlier. whenever weird things are happening with your code try a full rebuild.

I have done that many times already, and I am sure the problem isnt with glClear, but commenting it out is the only thing that seems to make any difference at the moment. I guess I was more curious as to why that would happen. I would have though that by commenting it out the display would just show crap, not change the programs memory usage by 100mb...
