@Mr. Anonymous: AFAIK MinGW is a windows environment for unix tools, so if the output is a windows binary everything should work.

Besides that you actually can enable DirectX support in Linux, just not the microsoft releases, but who gives a shit.

@Marlow: I don't know where to get the file. Simply entering the d3dx9.a into google to see if a site is hosting that file resulted into 1 result. A post on this forum, but no dl link or anything.

Maybe you can ask someone on the mingw forums if they have the file and could share it.

You already had 1 thread going about this, you don't need to constantly create new threads.

Try this:

Doing a google of this site for Dev-C++ SDK found it in about 30 seconds.

@All I have windowsXP I dunno what the hell you guys were talkin' about lol. And btw mingw32 comes with dev c++, and yeah I know it was designed for Unix or whatever I saw at the official site.
EDIT: I downloaded that yesterday hyena as you can see on my post I google searched and found this but well now I saw it installed new libs lol thx all

Damn I inserted on the linker and it still gives me the same errors
[Linker error] undefined reference to CreateOffScreenPlainSurface(unsigned, unsigned, _D3DFORMAT, unsigned long, IDirect3DSurface9**, void**)'
[Linker error] undefined reference to
D3DXLoadSurfaceFromFileA(IDirect3DSurface9*, tagPALETTEENTRY const*, tagRECT const*, char const*, tagRECT const*, unsigned long, unsigned long, _D3DXIMAGE_INFO*)' k now what libs should I link with? And what about the headers?I have d3d9, d3dx9 d3dx9tex included ddraw...

Have you downloaded the DirectX SDK? You need that. You can't expect to make DirectX based applications without it (or with parts of it). If you have a slow internet connection order a CD copy from the Microsoft site.

Ya I downloaded the SDK but the SDK contains like libs on .lib extension and I use .a libs of dev c++ so I cannot replace them but I have downloaded the latest libs all I need to know is what libs to link and what files to include.

Since I have only linker errors as shown above I don't think the problem is with the headers. On my linker text box I inserted the following:
-ld3d9
-ld3dx9
Should I put more libs?If so please let me know, I have tried some but please suggest me.
Or should I change like compiler settings?Makefile?
My regards.

Ok, I have split the buggy surface code from the main code and it's compilable again, well, can someone then pass me a clean surface code, I mean a code for me to load bitmaps and so.Btw:Here's the code if you guys wanna take a look it gives me only linker errors but still I dunno what lib to link with, well here it is:
(Please keep in mind that that's only a portion of my code not the full code)
HRESULT CreateOffScreenPlainSurface(  //6 Parameters functionUINT Width,       //width and height of the surfaceUINT Height,D3DFORMAT Format, //D3DFORMAT TypeDWORD Pool,       //Memory poolIDirect3DSurface9 **ppSurface,    // Resulting surface pointerHANDLE* pHandle );   //Always NULLHRESULT hResult;IDirect3DSurface9* surface = NULL;hResult = CreateOffScreenPlainSurface(   //Now we just have to insert640,                                    //the value for each parameter480,                                   //we typed.D3DFMT_X8R8G8B8,D3DPOOL_DEFAULT,&surface,NULL);if ( FAILED ( hResult ) )    return false;HRESULT D3DXLoadSurfaceFromFile(LPDIRECT3DSURFACE9 pDestSurface,CONST PALETTEENTRY* pDestPalette,CONST RECT* pDestRect,LPCTSTR pScrFile,CONST RECT* pSrcRect,DWORD Filter,D3DCOLOR Colorkey,D3DXIMAGE_INFO* pSrcInfo);IDirect3DSurface9* Surface;hResult = D3DXLoadSurfaceFromFile( surface,                                   NULL,                                   NULL,                                   "test.bmp",                                   NULL,                                   D3DTEXF_NONE,                                   0,                                   NULL                                   );render ( );if ( FAILED( hResult ) )    return false;
