I wonder if somebody new any tutorials about how to implement scrolling in a "Zelda game"?
Thanks, Indosuaros.

I believe there are some tile scrolling tutorials at this site actaully...
I'm reminded of the day my daughter came in, looked over my shoulder at some Perl 4 code, and said, "What is that, swearing?" - Larry Wall

Scrolling in a Zelda like game is very easy... the concept behind such games are tiles (if you never heard of those... stop programming games) and you can easily calculate which tiles are visible... then you blit those tiles to the screen (clipped if that has to be done)... so what does this mean?

You have some world coordinates that represent the position of the ViewWindow in the world then you do something like this

FirstVisibleTileX = WorldCoordinates.left / Tile.Width;

if you do not understand this... stop coding games... start learning programming

anyway... hope this helps a little

Someone might can program well without understanding your answer if he doesnยดt know the math.

This site has decent tutorials under programming section and a forum.

In general you load 2d tilap map and sprites. Calculate screen coordinates draw terrain and then sprites.

Things get more complicated if you make 3/4 person view tile game i suggest you to start from topdown version itยดs easy just think it.
