Hi everyone. Well, I guess this is it. Some of you know me by my real name, Jesse Towner. Recently, I've been going by the alternate nick name JesseT on these forums, and by Jesse in the #gamedev IRC channel. I've been thinking about this for a couple of weeks, and what to say, but I guess I'll just say things off of the top of my head. As some of you will note, I was recently banned under the JesseT account; however, I'm not creating this thread in reaction to that event. I was planning on posting this to the forums regardless for some time, and I guess now is as good a time as any. I'm not doing this to troll the boards or to get attention really. I'm not leaving the forums in protest or anything like that, but rather due to circumstances elsewhere in my life that are outside of my control. So I wish this to be sincere, and would appreciate it if theis thread remained open. Anyway, just wanted to say that my time here was fun, and I would like to extend my greetings out to the following with whom I have spent my online time with over the years, in no particular order: Dan Firahs Johnny Mithrandir ... "I wish there was a place with no idiots." Evaclear, many good old times. nes8bit aka Timothy "The G-Man" Barnes. I still remember your VB submission to the original Four Elements contest. Fond memories. Pouya aka The TA Overlord, and everyone else at TA. Akura aka Bruno, "Man, Martin pisses me off." garfield, you're always getting into trouble... well, at least you used to. I hope the best for you. blip christian draqza ERJO Exellon Hylix ibutsu foofightr KingDarka Kurifu Mark_ masterg Merc aka Mercury Necromancer pseudo optics Smoogle SteelGolem ... and the rest of the Necrosoft gang! I know I haven't remembered everyone, but great times were had by all during this golden era! May the legacy live on! Akamu ceasure Code_Dark Cell Error404 GreenToad kaye kooktroop mittens muffins myst Phoenix RedBeard Sages Strife Syntacs Telal Toxic Hippo Wazm woof ... and everyone else from the S3D gang. The room of comedy gold! Now, I cannot forget to greet: DKt-SONIC _dot_ Nakor Washu ... the Hen... er, I mean Anime elite! April billybob CppMan aka CpMan GIBSon3 Epidemi jonte Lektrix muer SiRVulcaN synapse zordan ... and everyone else from the C++ zone. Other honorable (and dishonorable :)) mentions from #gamedev and the forums: aftermath benryves BlabberBoy Blain BIG_DOG Boku_San capn_midnight Drevay DXGP evan FaceHat Fruny Gachuk JM Keebler kSquared maestro MadProgrammer MindWipe Monder mrfun msn Nurgle Oluseyi Palish Programmer One Promit posit Ra Redaccess Render snk_kid SuperPig try_catch_this Vendayan vertexnormal And last, but certainly not least, I'd like to extend a greet out to the GDNet staff and other contributors whom I have chatted with online or met in person at one time or another: Dave Astle Ernest Pazera Heather Holland John Hattan Kevin Hawkins Mason McCuskey Mike Tanczos And everyone else who I've foolishly forgotten to mention! My apologies. Farewell, and may your life be filled with happiness. - Jesse W. Towner, previously known as the CodeDemon

Nothing like a ban to be the final nail in the coffin, eh?

Good luck in your future, dude.

Oh come on now, just because interesting topics get closed constantly cause moderators have a quota to fill, and you getting banned doesn't mean you have to get all sentimental and leave...

It's been nice having you around, I suppose we all have to leave sometime though. If I talk to you again, that'd be great, otherwise, have a good life. Later man. [smile]

Oh great, so we lose another sane person. #gamedev's already eaten my soul, so I suppose it won't matter much that it'll start eating my brains. [sad]

Adios.

aww no man! Don't leave! =( This guy has been around like.. forever. I had some articles of his up on gameprog.com way before gamedev.net existed.

Jesse, I hope you figure out whatever you need to work out. Don't stay away too long man or at least drop by from time to time. Take it easy.
