ok I''ve got a P-166 laptop, a P-90 Laptop. A home networking kit running. I''m running on a P-III 500mhz, 128mb Ram, TNT video card, etc. I''ve also got a 486-dx2-66mhz computer that is in parts along with another monitor. So if I took that old VGA card or what ever it has in there I could install that and connect my other monitor to it and it''d work? How do I do this? Where can I get info about it? Also how would I set up remote debugging? Thanks, Viri-

You can do that with Windows 98 and above (It''s called Multi-Monitor support).
All you need is an extra PCI/AGP slot (Depends on your VGA card, if it''s old, my bet is on PCI ) and some time to set it up
Try finding some info at Microsoft.

If you lock your surfaces with DDLOCK_NOSYSLOCK along with the usual parameters, and you take care of alt-tabbing from the application, you should be able to get a debugger running in the background. Although I have had no success with this so far.

If you want to use network debugging, you should learn DirectPlay or Winsock (or another networking API) and have two applications running on either computer, the application being debugged, and the debugging application. The application sends debug messages to the debugger and the debugger displays them.

Please state the nature of the debugging emergency.
