Does anyone have any good resources on creating windows, text boxes, and buttons in DirectX? I assume windows are just textured quads of sorts with certain predefined properties (as in, where things are located, etc). And buttons are probably just quads as well, but are animated upon click detection -- and are somehow bound to a function? Simple, I suppose, with some mouse collision detection. My real issue is input boxes. How do I create a name prompt, or a login prompt? Does directx9 have any built in functions, or do I have to fake a little window and use my own font class? And what about text boxes and scrollers (width and height). Do all of these things need to be self implemented? Am I going about these things all wrong? Thanks.
