Powerful soap?

Hey guys, I'll have to create my own soap at school soon, we have to find our own soap recipes.. Unfortunatly, the soap recipes I found on internet were quite weak, old grand-mother soaps.. We would like to create a quite powerful soap, something that will clean real good, something stronger than the average soap you would buy to clean your hands. That soap is only going to be tested on tissues and not on human skin. We have 2 constraints: -No KOH -No oliva oil Any suggestions?

If you can't have potassium hydroxide, go for the sodium variety
Warning: I've no idea if doing so is at all safe or anything like that, but they both came up for a search on 'lye' so I figured it might be a good substitue =-P

For a good powerful soap, start with about 20 pounds of TNT and go from there.

Hrmm, it lists some 'harsh ingredients' not contained in that soap. Maybe if you want extra power you should put some of those in?

NaOH is quite standard for most soaps, that's what we were planning to use, though we would like to find a great combinaison of other substances with it to create a strong soap.
But we're always ready to use something else in case it would be better (as long as it is realistically obtainable).

Tried the coffee soap. Smelled good, but it wasn't as fun as i hoped it to be.

Watch Fight Club [smile]. Anyways what I would suggest is finding a few soap companies and write them. I do not think they will give out their recepies - but maybe you can ask them if they would have any tips or pointers on making good soap for fun. (Since they wouldn't want you to put them out of business[wink]). I do not know the time constratins on this project, so it may be out of the question for you - but most of hte time, people are willing to help out.
