I did a google search and found a few ho-hum ones. I personally like to go through an online tutorial before I delve deeper. Anyone know of any real good ones?

STL tutorials like what... "How to use STL?"

STL, for the most part, is just well coded/tested implementations of common data structures and other common functions.

The documentation should be enough to use it, but if you have specific questions, I can help :)

You've pretty much summed it up. I don't know of any really good (and more importantly, guaranteed to be correct) tutorial, but as Maega offered, if you do have questions (even somewhat general ones), we can try and answer them.

I found this one page that has a section of STL stuff as well as programming stuff. I hope it helps some! Check out the "The Standard Template Library Tutorial" -

This tutorial should give the interested reader a comprehensive survey on the Standard Template Library and should enable him to use the STL programming technique in his own programs.

i just bought a book called "Object Oriented Programming in C++" by Robert Lafore. it has a whole section dedicated to just STL, go overs all the containers and what they do and gives you a quiz and a few programs to write with it, all in all covering about 60 pages worth. this book as a whole i might add is awesome and would recommend it.

the amazon link is here

btw how would you make a link like this into a single word link? thanks....

*chuckle*

I have whole books dedicated to this and closely related topics. e.g.

"The C++ Standard Library" by Nicolai Jossuttis
"Standard C++ IOStreams and Locales" by Angelika Langer and Klaus Kreft
"Effective STL" by Scott Meyers
"STL Tutorial and Reference Guide" by David Musser and Atul Saini

If you were to buy only one book, I'd strongly suggest you buy Josuttis' "The C++ Standard Library". It's a must-have for any C++ programmer.

(and to make it a link, you'd use HTML anchor tags)
