generally you just install the SDK, open up .NET and go. you modify the project properties so that it looks for headers and libs in the appropriate plaes. there's also typically a nice and handy README or something like that which will tell you everything you need to do to get a project started.

Well i alrady have the extra paths of headers and libs to search for appended in the properties but in the build log these paths don't show up
INCLUDE=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Vc7\include;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Vc7\atlmfc\include;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Vc7\PlatformSDK\include\prerelease;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Vc7\PlatformSDK\include;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\FrameworkSDK\include
LIB=C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Vc7\lib;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Vc7\atlmfc\lib;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Vc7\PlatformSDK\lib\prerelease;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\Vc7\PlatformSDK\lib;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET\FrameworkSDK\lib
These are the default paths but the other one i specified isn't here

It seems that the header files are not compatible ,don't know why ,even if i put one in my project directory it still gives this error:
fatal error C1001: INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR (compiler file 'f:\vs70builds\9466\vc\Compiler\Utc\src\P2\main.c', line 146)
Please choose the Technical Support command on the Visual C++
Help menu, or open the Technical Support help file for more information
d3d : error PRJ0002 : error result returned from 'cl.exe'.
Build log was saved at "file://c:\MyProjects\Application\d3d\Debug\BuildLog.htm"
d3d - 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)
Although line 146 doesn't say me anything???[looksaround]
These SDK worked fine with my old VC6.0 and still does .
I hope you can give me more of your advice.I appreciate your help

VC7 already comes with DirectX headers and libs, but they're from an earlier version. (DirectX8, I think.)
By overwriting some of these headers with newer ones, you're asking for trouble; the new SDK will have different dependencies and the result is that your compiler and linker are getting mightily confused because you seem to have header files referring to stuff in other files that may not be from the same version. It's a real owl-stretching moment for the compiler.
The DirectX 9.0c SDK comes with its own installer. You run the installer to install the SDK. You do NOTHING ELSE other than tell Visual Studio where the SDK's header and library files are. No manual copying should be done.
At this stage, I'd strongly advise _reinstalling_ VC7, not just the SDK.
