[web] JavaScript Open Function, as equivalent css?

Use a-target.
Here's the code I use in my projects pages.
Why wouldn't you want to use javascript? It's pretty much a standard now among internet browsers. The only browsers that don't have it are <i>very</i> old browsers and some internet phone browsers (but those have small screens anyway).

well, i was just wondering if there would be a nicer way of doing it, such as css.
I think you're missing the point of CSS... Its for defining how the elements should be styled for rendering, its not a scripting language.
CSS = Cascading style Sheets
JavaScript
CSS is for styling the elements in the page and javascript is for scripting them. CSS wasn't designed for the sort of thing you're trying to achieve.

i understand the point and difference between css and javascript. does it not seem unreasonable that in a style sheet's I cannot define <u>how links are opened</u>?<!--QUOTE--></td></tr></table></blockquote><!--/QUOTE--><!--ENDQUOTE--><br/><br/>style sheets define <u>how links are displayed</u>.
