Im looking at and applying to colleges right now. I was wondering if anyone had been through, or heard anything about Notre Dame''s computer science program.
Notre Dame (in Indiana) is a pretty prestegious school. It''s an excellent school. I think US News rated it #19 in the US. I want to go in for Computer Science, and US News ranked school''s computer programs, and Notre Dame did not make the top 20. However a school like University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) which was ranked like #43 overall, was like #4 in computers.
What Im wondering is, if I try to get a job in (game) programming, will the employer be more impressed with a well recognized school like Notre Dame, or is would a degree from University of Illinois be better?
Obviously theres no clear answer. Im going to visit both colleges to see what I like better, but I''d just like some feedback. I should be able to get into University of Illinois, and Im pretty confident with Notre Dame. I also applied to MIT, but thats sorta a long shot
Ive also applied to University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon University.
thanks for any advice.
