I''m interested in eventually getting a job as a game developer ar some other creative outlet of programming. I am taking c++ classes right now, and plan to learn Java next. I''m not sure where to after that. It''s dificult to write a resume with no actual experience to speak of. How do people get started doing this professionally? I''d apprciate any input. Thanks!

How about developing some games? Just learning the language isn''t enough, you need to know some sort of API (well, at least if you don''t feel like writing all of the drivers yourself) and how to actually program a _game_.
I'm reminded of the day my daughter came in, looked over my shoulder at some Perl 4 code, and said, "What is that, swearing?" - Larry Wall

Definetly learn DirectX and/or OpenGL. Also, try reading this thread if you haven''t already.
