What do you mean by System Volume? Are you referring to the Windows System Restore features? Or are you referring to what operating system boots up?

As for a custom interface.. what operating system are you working with? Windows?

What you need to take a look at is the Windows Multimedia Functions. I know that is long list, but you should be able to get an idea of *all* the stuff you can potentiall do [smile]. As for the volume, take a look at waveOutSetVolume function. Now you will need to take a look at how to setup all of this, but there is a short and sweet example here you can start with.

Now for this, you will need to take a look at Window Skinning. Here is a great start for you. It goes over the basics I belive. Also take a look into windows regions. This will let you make non rectangular windows.

I'd say definitly look around at the Code Project. They have lots of useful stuff to learn with. Best of luck!
