ok at my school you can test out of alot of classes by simply passing thier final exam with above a C and since i have been at programming alot longer then most other kids in my school i want to test out of programming_I but the problem is that: this course uses visual BASIC and while im sure i have already learned the concepts i fear that i might not be able to pass the exam if there is any "Language Spacific Questions" because i have never had much exp with BASIC except for the free trial i had with dark basic. Do you think i could take and pass the test without knowing too much basic or should i study alot of BASIC and use it a little so i can test out of a class teaching a language that ill prolly never use again? thanks for you imput (there is no right or wrong here and i am DEFENITLY NOT FLAMING BASIC it just isnt what i like or what im use to)

I think a fairly good knowledge of VB would be needed.

Common misconception: Visual Basic = BASIC

Reality: BASIC and Visual Basic are completely different.

You'd have to learn Visual Basic if that was the case.

I think you should spend a week with some tutorials and give it a shot.

If all else fails, take the course. If you have the right attitude you will most certainly learn something.

It might be tough to test out of a course for which you have no experience in.
I don't know what they would ask, but unless you have used a lot of object oriented programming before, especially GUI related, I think it would be a difficult test. If they asked anything related to the language, I don't know if you would do well.

Is the programming in VB.NET or previous version of VB because those are completely different and I doubt I could make anything with .NET even though I've programmed with VB6 for 5 years and even made an online RPG with it.
