Just wondering who would be interested in an article about design docs and how they should be best structured. A well-constructed design doc will never fail you as you make the game. I beleive most people like to skimp on the design doc part in favor of plunging right in. Just let me know if I''m wrong or not so I don''t waste my time ============================== "Need more eeenput..." - #5, "Short Circuit" ==============================

I completely agree with you there. I would also like to see a template of some kind on how a Design document is structured.

Well, lets hope they put it up next week.

Play as the best or die like the rest.

OK, glad to hear its a good idea. I''m reading Game Architecture and Design right now so doing this would be perfect. There were about four other articles written about Game Design Docs, and I''ll read through them as well and incorporate some of their info into mine. I''ll do my best to provide a template, but all I can guarantee is stuff like setting up sections, the table of contents, the title page, etc. And yes, Mr. Anon, I''ll be sure to explain the differences between pitching to a publisher or developer and designing for the development of the game. I don''t know when to be finished, the last article took me about two and a half weeks. Hopefully I can shorten that a bit but we''ll see, I have other stuff to do to . If you want to catch up on the articles other people have written, head over to the Game Design archive and search for articles on design docs. I know they''re there.
