With the new ps 3.0 being out, and conditional looping being all the rage, I was wondering if there's anything that's been done to bind directly to a user struct type, w/o having to put semantics on each of it's members. For instance, lets say I want to bind X number lights, I really don't want to create a semantic for each one of the members of each struct. Does anyone have info on this? ~Main

If your light structures match, why can't you simply use ID3DXEffect::SetValue()? This way, you can set the entire struct in one call, without worrying about any semantics.

YOu need a semantic for anything coming from the data stream, however if you want alot of lights just use an array

float4 Lights[8] : TEXCOORD0
