I left my Computer Science course at Uni over a year ago now due to multiple disputes about the quality of lectures, coursework and tutor feedback comming to a head...My uni was a shambols and has had courses shut down due not passing quality standard checks. BUT i did really enjoy My Computer Archtecture lectures and lessons they where about the only thing on the whole comp' sci' course that was handled professionaly(just about). After i left uni after less than a year i'm getting a career on track by doing an MCAD (in C#.NET)that im almost at the end of. The other day I pulled my "Computer Organisation & Architecture: Designing for performance" 6th ED. book off the shelf and havent been able to put it down. I really like the subject of computer engineering and its somthing i want to persue in my spare time but resourses seem thin on the ground the only web sites im stumbling over are too advanced or for uni's and have no open forums. My understanding of the subject covers: Hexidecimal & binary Rudimenrty Hard drive read/writing, Very basic system bus knowledge Very basic understanding of the most basic elements of a CPU. I'm stuggling with begginer information on the subject, at the end of each chapter in the book im reading im left wanting more indepth info and the recormending reading list at the end of each chapter is long and getting all the books on it is outside by budget and far beyound the limit of my spare time to read all of them. Is any one here able to set me on course to get more info on this subject, please? It seems the only way to get into Comp' Engin' is through uni but thats not an option for me due to lack of money and the inability to relocate due to commitments. Thanks, James.
