Hi guys, could you just give me a hint on what i should do to make this whole thing work. How do you tell DirectX to render onto a static control. What are just the basic steps. I do have a class for it, derived from CStatic.

You'll need to get a HWND from your CStatic, but other than that it should be pretty much the same as any windowed d3d app.

plus to make sure the static doesn't interfere add the SS_OWNERDRAW style (this style is omitted from the MSDN docs for years).

You'll get an WM_DRAWITEM for your static control, just put a render call inside there too for correct behaviour.
