Hi, are the GLSL implementations of the major vendors on Win/MacOSX(/Linux) stable enough to rely on GLSL shaders only in a commercial game development setting? Shipping target date is summer 05. Thanks for your comments. regards, stephan

Fragment programs and vertex programs (ie ARB_fp and ARB_vp) are very stable by now, and many games use this today.
GLSL is still a bit young, but support is getting better every day. If you had to release the game today I'd say you either have to pray or need some time to tweak your shaders (sometimes shaders which don't work just need a minor workaround to work on bugged drivers). As for summer 05, I'd say support will be even better of course but can't guarantee will be stable enough in all cases as ARB_fp/vp are today.

Yes. Of course, you should test on all major vendors.
