Please test and comment my raycasting engine! You can download it here. Here are some screenshots: This is a raycasting engine like Wolfenstein 3D has, but pushed to the max! It supports: -animated sprites -floor and ceiling textures -teleporters (moving items like projectiles will go through teleporters too) -thin walls (Wolf3D only supports blocks) -45 degree walls (Wolf3D only supports 90 degree walls) -round walls (not at all in Wolf3D) -a lot of different weapons (try pressing keys 0-9 several times) -paralax backdrop (sky) -explosive barrels -flashing light effects -waving lava that hurts -no AI and enemies YET -secret push walls like in Wolf3D -decals (sprite textures that you can put over walls, floors and ceilings) -24-bit colors -128x128 textures -you can put sprites in corners and on sides of tiles too (in Wolf3D you could only put them in the center) -weapon projectiles that bounce against walls (weapon 7) -the map is read from a png file (I was too lazy to build a map editor, why would I if you can edit the pixels of the map with a painting program ;)). Only the blue values of the pixels are used, the red and green values may be anything. Here's the actual map as it's read by the engine: And here are the controls: -arrows: walk around -alt: strafe modifier -keypad 0: walk faster -space: open doors and secrets -ctrl: fire your gun (you can shoot explosive barrels) -alt+enter: switch to fullscreen -0-9: select weapons (9 = lay mine, 0 = shoot fragments all around you) -escape: exit program P.S. Textures are ripped off from Wolf3D and Doom, and the ones I painted look like MS Paint graphics, I KNOW THAT THEY'RE UGLY!

btw, if you want to put it to max, why not make cans be real 3D cylinders?

It's a Wolf3D style raycaster, not a Doom style raycaster, 3D cans would require walls of different heights and that's only possible in a Doom style raycaster.

That is so cool. The memories stream back. I like the domino effect with the buckets of death. You should get some enemies going and create a nice complete level. Make sure you make it for multiple levels. Check out our own Ben Ryves raycaster.

Nice doors as well.

That's some pretty awesome programmer art, there. Those star shaped thingies seem to keep bouncing forever.

Heh, the bullets can be teleported. That's funny.
Chess is played by three people. Two people play the game; the third provides moral support for the pawns. The object of the game is to kill your opponent by flinging captured pieces at his head. Since the only piece that can be killed is a pawn, the two armies agree to meet in a pawn-infested area (or even a pawn shop) and kill as many pawns as possible in the crossfire. If the game goes on for an hour, one player may legally attempt to gouge out the other
