Hi guys, I want to start a little project (just for me atm.) and want to use a shoreline database file containing polygons representing shorelines, lakes, islands etc. My question is now... How to start? My thoughts: I want to load a region (eg. upper left Lat/Long to lower right Lat/Long) into memory and then use a subregion as viewport. Zooming would then mean to vary the size of the subregion/viewport. What would be the best way to achieve this? I don't need high speed graphics, although D3D could be an option. Never did such graphics-things before (only accounting software :) ). Maybe there's already a component available that does this. Any help appreciated! :) regards, Stevie
