Hello everybody... I have an education question in mind. I have heard of DigiPen, that game development school down in the US. My question is, can I go to school there, even though I'm a Canadian Citizen? Game development is the career that I know is for me, even though all I've really made so far is a couple of PONG clones. You're answers aren't really too urgent, as I'm only about 15. :)

It's very easy for Canadians to attend school in the U.S.

Just a few simple rules.

First, you have to serve for 2 years in the U.S. military killing potential terrorists abroad (or domestically if you're super-lucky). Best to join the program with fellow wannabe students who are either larger or slower than you or who -- for whatever reason -- just happen to make much better targets.

Next, you just need to receive the sacred rites of U.S.-ness. Very easy. Just involves kissing a portrait of George W. Bush in a public ritual, 12 hours of animal sacrifices, etc. You know. Your standard ritual stuff.

After that, you just have to get either a tattoo (with red, white, blue color scheme) or brand w/ eagle emblem to show your loyalty. The choice is totally yours, so it's really pretty flexible.

Like I said: easy.

I'm not sure what other people recommend but I don't particularly like those gaming only schools and would say to get a degree in computer science or software engineering.

I got a job in the industry just fine without having a 'game development' education, and it leaves the window open for anything else in the future.
