Future game artists take note. Dont do this ...

HAHA! Sadly, that's not the worst I've seen.. fortunately the characters aren't that big in the actual world (most of the time).

It's also kind of sad that the best plate shoulders in the game look like a stack of bananas, or a banana-coloured accordian.

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say by this thread but...

You can turn off the helm and cloak, the only two items of which I've found instances of that were "ugly". On the login screen, all will show but who cares?

Now I find the art style of WoW refreshing. In an industry where everyone's so caught up in creating "realism" we forget how much fun it is to realize we're playing a game in a noticable fantasy world. I'll take these graphics any day. The game is BEAUTIFUL.

The enviroment and NPC's in the game are great.

Player gear ... is not. My cloak is green with dark green splotches on it. Looks like Linda Blare puked all over it.

Maybe you're just not part of the target audience. [disturbed]

Though I admit that your character isn't aesthetically appealing the lesson future artists can take is that graphics like that can be part of the hottest game around right now - if you're Blizzard Entertainment :).

Eh, I've seen lots worse. Other than the "I really gotta pee" stance it's not to bad IMHO.

That and the colors are horrid. But the background looks quite nice.

The textures are blured and everything is aliased. Time to enable anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering?

It seems ok to me. IF you disregard that stupid fantasy theme.

It is true. Some combinations of armor, however, are not beautiful as evident in this post.

Well, I only use armor that looks good, even if it isn't as good as it could be!

I really dont know what the hubub is about.
It looks fine to me.
If i could draw that good i'd be pleased with myself and even judging by the art skill that should be in a game, i'd be happy with art like that in any game i played.
IMHO you guys are exxagerating whatever it is you think is wrong.
______Yes I think the rev pad sucks/so does 50 and the DS. I like action and am not ashamed. I prefer brunettes but hate chocolate. Yes,I have opinions!!! Rate as you will.

Its not my favorite style of animation/rendering whatever you call it. It looks too cartoony for my liking, but I dont think its that ugly. They did a good job creating it, it just doesnt appeal to me.

the funny thing bout this is guy complaining about wow is the fact that his stuff looks like shit. There are guys out there that look awsome, but this guy doesnt. Dont let his guy effect the way u feel about WoW graphics cause they get much better depending where u r and what u have on. Also, his comp most not be the best cause with full anti-aliasing, anisotropic, the game looks amazing.

Here's my Warlock:

Working on a full set of Dreadmist.. obviously need the shoulder and mask still.. must get this green stuff off :/ Hmm I don't think I'm wearing the gloves in this pic.. have to take one again with them on.

I think it's more the lack of colou co-ordination: Fuzztrek's green and purple offset reasonably, while Janison's all over the palette. That, and his sword seems to be compensating for something.

And that's not Blizzard's fault. Tell Jenison to ditch the 'functional' ugly gear and choose more carefully and with an eye toward style next time. [grin]

Have you seen the pally class epic set? looks aweful.

Maybe I'm just too 'Queer Eye' for some of these sets of armour. ;)
