Hey guys! Do any of you know how to flash the taskbar in Windows and Linux with C++? I'm sure Linux's taskbar item can flash like the one in Windows. Thanks

Try the FlashWindowEx function on Win32. I don't know how it's done in Linux (probably varies depending on the desktop environment you're using). Here's some untested source:
HWND hwnd;  // the window you want to flashFLASHWINFO flash;memset(&flash, 0, sizeof flash);flash.cbSize = sizeof flash;flash.hwnd = hwnd;flash.dwFlags = FLASHW_TRAY;flash.uCount = 3;  // flash 3 timesFlashWindowEx(&flash);

Look up FlashWindow and FlashWindowEx in MSDN...I'm guessing thats what your looking for. I dunno if it works in Linux, since it is a Win32 API call.

Hey thanks man! I'm still hoping that a Linux guy could answer my question.
Do any of you know where I can go to find out? As long as it works for KDE & Gnome, then I'm pretty much happy ;)

Thanks again guys!
