Ok guys, as I've said, I've made a little demo of breakout using hxRender. It is hxBreakOut. It is a really horribly done breakout clone, but it should be enough to see how to use the basics of hxRender.
If you look at the game, then look at the artwork, you will see something odd - the artwork is all black and white and the game has color! That's because hxRender has this very neat function that allows you to replace colors on an image. Look at the code to see what was done. This little technique is perfect for having to create only one set of images and be able to use them for multiple teams/etc...
After working on this little demo, ~2hrs, I would say you have the start of something really good Joel. I can see how you could easily take this and expand it a lot for a great game library. Some things that you could add are fonts, sprites, and gui elements. Getting it up and running was very easy! All the time spent develeoping was the basics of breakout.
So overall Great work! I only wish I had a chance to try it out earlier, but this is definitly nice. As I've said, the Breakout game is just a crappy example. I think I will do some modding of your library and make a better game with it. This can definitly get better, I hope you don't abadon it!
