Are any of you people registered in that site? I just registered there, and realized that for some reason, computer science majors are the ones that register the least! I'm just curious if it's paranoia, or just that we're not very social even in online environments?

Yeah i am on teh facebook.

Well generally it only shows you people from your University. In order to find other people you have to do a global search.

I'm on there too. I've been able to chat with people from HS I haven't seen in years. Its pretty cool, I guess. There is a lot to be desired from it.

I'm on Facebook and I never check it. Social networking is a disease. Every few weeks I get a message that someone I don't know wants to be added to my friends list. In fact, I think I'll go do a housecleaning right now.

Yeah, but I only add people I know in real life there. Everyone else I can get into contact with easily.

Yes, I am on it, but I was on it before it started getting insanely popular. If I could turn back time, now I wouldn't have joined it just because it's become associated with the kinds of people I despise.

It does have its nice features though, like now I have a way of knowing when peoples' birthdays are and they no longer have an excuse to "forget" mine.

I joinded thefacebook several months ago, but I rarely log on. It seems pretty pointless.

I think few CS majors are on it because they don't have very many friends (kinda like me, but I'm a CGT major) and they feel sad when they peruse other peoples' profiles and see the sheer amount of facebook friends they have.

I'm on it. And as much as I despise internet socialization networks, I also met my insanely gorgeous girlfriend through it (she does go to my university - but would probably never have known it without that site).

I'm on it, and I love it. I've moved a lot in my life, and I've been contacted and contacted a lot of people that I thought I would never hear from again. That, and its a great directory for getting phone numbers for projects, and it is also a really cool way to visualize the schools social network.
