My experience with it has been good. However, the only other IDE I have experience with is xCode, and only limited experience at that. So I can't say how it stacks up to other IDEs.

AFAIK its real big with mac people becasue it sucks less than xCode. I've used the pc version before, and it was pretty nice, not even close to Visual Studio .NET, but definately not bad at all.

Codewarrior's biggest advantage in game development is that they produce game console compilers, ie gamecube, ps2 and GBA compilers, whereas MS, IBM, Borland etc don't.

I agree im currently using xcode. It's the worste IDE i every used. I was thinking about getting Codewarrior myself but unfournately it isnt as affordable as Visual C++. Is there some thing more decent out there that its less expensive.

The CodeWarrior IDEs... what's a nice word for it... suck balls. I would use stronger language, but kids may be reading this. I have to use CodeWarrior for PS2 and it drives me absolutely nuts. If I have to do anything more complicated than type a sentence, I switch to Visual Studio, make the changes there, then switch back to CodeWarrior to run the game on the PS2 devkit. Don't even try to debug on the PS2. It doesn't work most of the time. Metrowerks IDEs are an abomination.

There. I feel better now.

Codewarrior for the PC is actually pretty nice. Very simple IDE. But it's still not Visual Studio and the Intel compiler can't be integrated with it. It's simplicity reminds me of what Borland C++ used to be in it's pre-C++ Builder days (say 1998 and earlier). It's nice, but it's not the best choice for the PC.
