I didnt know whether to put this post in the linux forum or not, but i figured its not really a game-related post, so , um, yeah... anyways, i'm trying to run a small webserver on one of my computers (just to test stuff, it wont ever touch the 'net) and have set up apache (not the helicopter) as much as i can (i think)... right now, i'm just experimenting to see if i can get cgi to work, because friends and family are learning cgi / perl and want something to test on... when i try to access a directory with a .cgi file in it, it says access denied (or forbidden, depending on browser...). i figured this was normal, as you arent supposed to access the cgi-bin from an outside computer... my question is: how can i test to see if cgi works... i have a few scripts to use as 'test subjects', how do i access them / encorporate them into another one of my html files (outside the cgi directory..) i tried renaming to .pl, it just displayed the text(ascii style), and i also tried these codes: <!--exec cgi=""--> thats probably not the right code (i dont remember it right now, but it looks something like this one...) embed... i really doubted this one would work, but hey... anyways, thanks in advance... _________
